Past Projects
Owl Conservation Project
- Owls are an important part of our country’s eco- system.
- Living on a green belt, as we do, we have a
responsibility to protect our environment for future
generations and the rest of ours. - Two studies conducted in America and Australia
have suggested there is no such thing as
“environmentally friendly rat poison” – the owls will
still die from secondary poisoning despite
manufacturers claims. - Owls are great form of rat control as each owl
consumes an estimated 1000 rates per year - Lets face it, one of our best attributes as a
neighbourhood is hearing our owls at night - The boxes create a “home” for the owls and attract
them to our area – all we need to do is spot them! So take a snap and put it on the community
whatsapp group when they decide to join us.
Pothole Project
- Potholes are a sure sign of degradation
and neglect in a neighbourhood. - The longer one leaves a pothole the
worse it will get over time, until it starts
affecting the integrity of greater parts of
the road and the damage become
exponential. - JRA does not prioritise suburban roads.
- Road Safety in our neighbourhood.
- Prevention of damage to vehicles.
Road Marking Project
- Road marking assists in guiding
expectations of other drivers and sets out
clear boundaries for safer driving in the
neighbourhood. - Road Safety.
- Neighbourhood betterment and care.
- We also replaced cats eyes on the one of
the blind turns and replaced 2 stop signs
that were non-existent. - JRA does not prioritise suburban roads.
- A special thank you to Lance Kier for
painting the WALKING DISTANCE
MARKERS.
Road Sign Project
- This was an initiative brought to our
attention by a resident. - Three intersections in our area have
never had street signs. - Nigel road, in particular, has never had a
road marking before. - Facilitates navigation within the area,
particularly with couriers and
transporters.
